Snow, Santa and Smiles!

Cadence got to meet Santa for the first time on friday. We got all bundled up and ready to go out in the cold to see him. We met Shane's niece and nephews at the mall to get a group photo. Turns out that Cadence likes Santa, she kept touching his beard and looking at him. The other kids didnt really like him so the picture isnt that great but its the only one i have of her with santa so far. We'll be making another trip to see santa when we go visit my family on monday.

From Left to Right----Joey, Sophie, Cadence, Santa and Stewart

The snow started at our house last week but it was so cold and windy here that it pretty much blew away after we got 6 inches. Then on wednesday it started snowing again and we got another 6 inches at least that stuck around. So we took Cadence out to see the snow for the first time. She hates the cold so i thought she wouldnt like it but she did. She actually loved it, except when the wind would blow in her face!
She cried when we took her inside and she kept looking out the window pointing at the snow and then talking gibberish. She was so cute all bundled up.

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree....

On friday we got our Christmas Tree. This is our first "Family Tree" and i might add it's the most beautiful one we have ever had. Probably because it's the first one since we've had Cadence. On sunday we put the tree up and decorated it. Cadence was sleeping when we started the lights and i was so excited when she woke up because i thought she would love it. However she HATED it. It was like this big scary thing and oh man did she hate the garland! I put it around her and she made this weird noise like she couldn't breath and she screamed so loud. I snapped a few pics before the break down but that was it.

We let Cadence hang the first ornament..Well we let her try to hang it :)
It was her Babies First Christmas Ornament. She got real nervous when we put her close to the tree.
I guess it's a good thing she doesn't like the tree because now i don't have to worry about her pulling all the decorations off of it!

Beautiful Becky

Have you ever met someone that is always looking to make someone else's day better, someone that calls to wish you happy birthday or to see how your baby is, someone who would buy groceries for you and not let you pay them back, a person that would make you taco salad anytime you asked, a person that has bought almost half of your child's wardrobe a person that forgives you for things in the past, a person that is always there just a phone call away or a 2 hour drive, a person that listen's and cares about what you have to say, a person that is so giving and loving, a person that makes you laugh non stop, a person that understands your humor, a person that can be a sister when you dont actually have a sister, a person that you can call friend.

Well that person is Becky for me. Just today i found out that she e-mailed Shane and asked him if he wanted her to drive all the way up here to babysit so he could take me out for our anniversary tommorrow night. She is always so thoughtful and kind and without Becky my life just wouldnt be the same.

So here is to you Becky!!!! and for all the other wonderful people that may act like you. Thanks and Love ya!

One Little Tooth is all it takes.

One little tooth is all it takes to make all your worries go away......For a while that is!

On Thursday as Cadence was chewing away at my fingers i noticed there was something sharp in her gums...What could it be but her very first tooth!!!! I was so excited for some reason. It actually made me cry my little baby is growing up so very fast. That day i was stressing about life in general but when i noticed her tooth it was like all that worrying was gone. Well until i thought of breastfeeding her with a little tooth then the worrying came back LOL!

Last Friday my mom and nieces came up to my house for the weekend and we had so much fun! Cadence loves my nieces. She giggles at them and gives them kisses and loves. It's so cute!

Taylor is wearing my dress from my freshman homecoming and Kylee is wearing parts of my pajama pants!!! They had a hole in them so i let them rip them off of me. Then she wanted to use it as a cape and hat. Cadence just loved sitting in between them so getting her to smile was easy!

Cadence wanted to join in the big girls game of Uno and she was so cute just looking at her cards. After about 2 mins she decided to eat them so her Uno playing came to an end.

On Sunday us girls played around and when Shane wasn't paying attention we dive bombed him. We had such a good time with my nieces i just love when there here.

1 Month Check-Up

Today was Cadence's 1 month check up.
She weighted 10 lbs! and was 22 1/2 inches long.

The doctor said she was healthy and happy :)

She has a little bit of eye boogers and we asked why and the doctor said that its normal in newborns because when there eyes water or tear its sterile. When it comes out and meets the eyelid where dirt can be it can cause the boogers. He said it was nothing to worry about but of course as a new mom i worry :)

Some First's for Cadence!

Monday May 26th Becky came up and hung out with Cadence and I. We decided to take her to lunch at Olive Garden for the first time. She never made a peep, she slept the whole time and even allowed us to take a picture of her with a bread stick :) We came home that night and hung out watching her sleep and talking baby stuff. That night Shane, Becky, Cadence and I all went to Dairy Queen for dinner. (Shane's idea) We had a great time! Cadence loves Aunt Becky that's for sure!

So while talking with Becky i got this idea that i wanted to go visit my family but i wasn't ready to drive all the way down there with just Cadence and I. So i called my mom and asked her if she would come up and pick us up on Wednesday and take us down to her house for a few days.....She said Yes!!!

So on Tuesday night mom came up and on Wednesday May 28th we loaded up and took Miss Cadence to the USA for the first time in her short little life. Shane had to drive us across the border and my mom followed. Because we didn't have her birth certificate both parents had to take her across. So we stopped right across the border and got in with my mom. Poor Shane was so sad that his new daughter was leaving him for a few days. It broke my heart just to see him so sad!

So on the road we went and she slept from our house in Canada all the way to Burgerville in Centrailia!!! It was perfect timing we could feed her and eat Burgerville. YUM YUM! Also her first time to Burgerville!
Once we got into Vancouver, WA our first stop was my brothers house. Taylor my niece had a softball game that night at 6 and since i had never been down on a weeknight before we had to go watch her! She did sooooo good! She is going to be a GREAT player when she gets older. This was mine and Cadence's first time to Taylor's game.

Cadence all bundled up for the game!
So after the game we went to Seth's and visited for a while then left and went to moms where we hung out til Friday afternoon. We had a great time hanging out with my mom and not really doing anything but playing with Cadence and taking pictures :)

On Friday afternoon we packed up and Cadence and i went back to Seth's house and stayed the night there. We had a good time hanging out with the girls and it was the first time Cadence met her Great Grandma Betty and Great Aunt Carleen and Great Uncle Perry. She got spoiled being carried around by everyone :)

Saturday we loaded up and Mom, Me, Cadence, Taylor and Kylee hit the road and headed to Monroe, Wa for Shane's race. Cadence had never seen dad race so this was a big first for her
Shane was so excited we were coming home and he was so excited to get back into his race car.
We got to the track before the heat races, Shane met us at the door he couldn't wait!

Stephanie finally got to meet Cadence and she didn't want to put her down. I think Cadence has that effect on people :) During all the races she just slept right threw. The noise didn't seem to bother her at all. During Shane's race or should i saw caution fest, she slept all the way until the last lap when she woke up. Probably because we were all cheering so loud for Shane because he WON on the last lap!!! It was awesome! Once all the races were over they did the trophy presentation and Cadence got to go up on the podium for the first time! Shane was one proud daddy.

We got home that night around 3:30 am...Such a long night but a wonderful week and weekend.
I love spending time with my family and going to the races and having Cadence there makes it so much better!

Feeling a Little Better

So im finally starting to feel better.

It seems like my cold is on the outs. However thats what Shane thought then his came back even stronger so keep your fingers crossed that mine doesn't!

Cadence is doing the same, she still has the sniffles but nothing else thank goodness!

She had a little bit of a difficult night last night. After i fed her at 4:30am she wanted to stay awake! Man thats tough when your so tired and your baby wont go right back to sleep.

Im hoping that real soon she'll start sleeping longer then 3 hour stretches during the night but thats just my wishful thinking :)

It's Bath night again tonight for her and oh man she hates the bath! Maybe tonight she'll like it better LOL

Hello Blog!

Hello Everyone!

So this whole blog thing is new to me :)
Encouraged by Becca and Becky i decided i would start one so my family would be able to check in on things since most of them don't have a Myspace :)

Today has been a tough day....Shane, Cadence and myself all have colds and its really taking a toll on me. Being a new mom is hard enough let alone being sick and tired doesn't make it any easier. We went to the doctor today for Cadence's 2 weeks check up (more on that later) and while we were there the doctor checked Shane out and told him he has Bronchitis!!! So now I'm taking care of Cadence and Shane and myself. Yikes! I hope it goes away soon!

So as for the check up....Cadence is now 22 inches long and weighing 9 LBS!
Everything look great with her besides her little sniffles. Makes me so sad!
We go back in 2 weeks for another check up.

My mom left yesterday and that was hard. She has been such a help for us this whole time. I don't know what we could have done without her! I wish she could have stayed until after our colds were gone but i understand she wanted to get back to her husband and her home. Sleeping on our couch cant be to fun LOL.

Well that's all for my first post :) write some more later when i have time.

Time....Something i just don't have much of anymore :)
